Rocky Adventures!!!

It's official!  I've been living in Colorado for a whole week and LOVING IT!  Moving from CA to CO though was a lot more work than anticipated.  Being a "real adult" and actually having stuff to move is way harder than moving to and from colleges or graduate schools where you have nothing and it all fits into your car.  That being said, I was very proud of my dad who managed to fit 99.9% of my belongings into my car, two car top carriers, and the rental van (not a moving truck).   I only left behind my mattress, trash can, ironing board, a few miscellaneous kitchen and laundry cleaning supplies, and some potted plants that I gave my friend.  So all in all - it was pretty impressive packing skills all around.  Also, I have the best parents ever who flew to CA and helped me move to CO and then drove the rental van full of the things that wouldn't fit into my car back to IA (since I'm doing the traveling thing now and will only be here in CO until the end of May).

Wheezer hiding from the rumble strips on the road.

"You can't see me...I'm not here..." Wheezer wanting to ride in the front set, in the laundry basket.

So now that you have some of the background history...on to the fun stuff.  Started work on Wednesday then had some great adventures with my old friends Linda and Rheu and new friend Julie.  Sabbath after church we went and climbed Castle Rock, which was lots of fun.

Then Sunday we drove up to Estes Park and went to Rocky Mountain National Park for a scenic tour and some shopping!!  We drove up to Bear Lake...then it was really windy so we decided not to hike around the lake.

Then we went back to Estes Park and went Geo-caching.  Julie is big into Geo-caching and had a "travel bug" that "wanted to go to Rocky Mountain National Park"  so we got out her GPS and looked up this Geo-cache outside the park, since there are apparently no actual caches in the park.   I climbed around a bunch of rocks on this hill and finally found the box.  There wasn't much inside of it but it was kinda fun.  They took my picture with my first official Geo-cache find to document this momentous occasion.

I found it!

THEN...we went down to the town and went to some of the touristy shops.  Linda wanted to go to the shoe store (It was really hard for me to agree to go.) and found some five fingered shoes just my size for a REALLY good deal so of course I had to get them.  Now I am official owner of alien toe shoes...and they are pink - the lighting in the picture is just not very good.

It's official.  I LOVE Colorado!!!  But then again, we already all knew that. :)
