CSHA Convention 2009

Last weekend I attended the California Speech-Language and Hearing Convention in Long Beach, CA. Several of my classmates also attended. We spent the weekend walking, talking (obviously), and attending workshops and seminars to learn new things (and to get free stuff - gotta love free stuff at conventions).
This is the Queen Mary and me. I didn't know that the Queen Mary was in Long Beach - now I know. It was really big and pretty cool looking, looks like the Titanic to me but hey, it's supposed to be famous and important so...there it is. There is a nice boardwalk and shoreline village with touristy shops that we walked along to see the ship.

Me walking. I don't know how Amy always managed to catch pictures of me walking with my left leg forward and my right leg back - strange. I never looked at my walk before, definitely can tell that it's me even though you don't see my face. :P

Funny prickly palm trees and me tired and sleepy after a long day of walking and talking.

We went out to eat quite a bit since there was no food (except for breakfast that we got free at our hotel).

Amy and I were pages last year at the convention so we took a second "page" picture just like last year. My shirt underneath is all bunched up, now I know what i'd look like +10lbs.

On Friday evening we all went to the district award ceremony to support Cheri - who won outstanding student award. We were proud. It was funny, especially since she didn't really know why or how she had/was getting the award. Picture is of us and two of our professors Dr. Shaughnessy and Professor Sharp.
On Saturday evening, Amy and I had to page at the CSHA Awards Association dinner. We wore all black and were "runners" so we helped all of the distinguished guests find their tables. After, we went to Quedoba and ate sandwiches - yummy.

The End.
