Notice: Be on the lookout for headless snowmen...

Tonight I went to the work "Nail Party".  I missed the first one in October because I was sick.  There is this girl who does all kinds of designs on nails.  I watched her do Christmas trees with stars and bulbs, lacy snowflakes that look like doilies on your fingers, and pretty stripped candy canes and then it was my turn....and while I really wanted to have 10 finger heads of The Grinch  I decided snowman faces would probably be less scary for small children than evil looking Grinches.

So I explained what I wanted and she did a practice one on paper and then started.  Once nine of my nails were done I realized it would have been much cooler to have all the snowman have different facial expressions instead of all "happy" thus the sad snowman thumb was created and his face looked so sad that I also asked for a tear.  I LOVE HIM!  He's so cute. I can imagine all kinds of things that are making him sad but I'll spare you the imagination ramblings.

Also on a random side note.  I love my Ipad.  I can now take pictures of my hands with my nose via the two way camera and touch screen!  How awesome is that. . .Nose pictures of heads on my hands. . .

Also I am totally going to use them on my kids at work for the lifespan of the nail polish (which may be very short) as in:
Child being stubborn or not wanting to talk to me.
Me: "Oh that makes me so sad. Look it makes the snowman sad too (show the kid "sad thumb"). . .
Don't you want to make the snowman happy and say your words?
Kid nods head (hopefully).
Show them "happy thumb" snowman.
Me: "Yay! Look you said your work and made the snowman happy!"
Show them the rest of your fingers.
Me: "And all his friends are happy too.  See everyone is happy when you use your words!"

I know you wish you could come see me for speech therapy also. . .I'll stop now to spare you more pain and go drink some tea and watch my Christmas favorite Disney's

Love the nails Jen... very creative idea with the snowman with different emotions. Glad the kids where you work are now entertained by them.
